Ratings are out of 5

• ⭐ 1/1.5/2/2.5 Stars: I can never in good conscience give something less than a star. Even if it’s not to my fancy, I will always credit the effort. Anything from 1-2.5 stars is generally something that isn’t quite my cup of tea and, if your views tend to match with mine, it’s unlikely to be yours either. Any content in this range comes with a serious recommendation of vibe checking to ensure you don’t waste your time, so check other reviewers and consumer opinions, and don’t at your own peril ⭐
• ⭐ 3/3.5 Stars: at this range, there’s plenty to enjoy with some pretty noticeable caveats. This is your average, your ‘mid’ as the Twitter/X lingo goes ⭐
• ⭐ 4/4.5 Stars: an above-average piece of media that nails more than it doesn’t. It’s, for the most part, fantastic, with only a few niggling negatives that can’t quite be dismissed ⭐
• ⭐ 5 Stars: uh oh, it’s the perfect score, right? No, a complete 5/5 doesn’t mean perfect, but it does mean, in my opinion, pretty darn close. It’s a smooth, impeccably structured ride that’s confident and addictive ⭐
• 🔥 PHOENIX RECOMMENDED: look out for my signature fiery phoenix for content that completely destroyed my expectations and comes with my highest recommendation. Content with this is a must 🔥

I’m pretty open when it comes to genres but please avoid sending any of the following:

• Non-fiction
• Religious or political texts
• Erotica
• Sports

Review requests should contain the title, series (if a part of one), and author within the title of the message. In the body of the message, briefly outline the synopsis, publisher, release date, and any pertinent details. If the book has yet to be released, please include any embargo details allowing for the fact that it’ll take me roughly 14 days should I accept.

Also, be sure and check out other reviews I’ve done in a similar genre to ensure that my style fits what you’re looking for. I cannot guarantee a positive review, it’s just not how I work, but rest assured that I don’t go looking for negatives. Everything I read is given a fair shot and I do my utmost to explore and understand every pro and con I list. Reviews will of course be posted on my site but will also be shared on these places:
